A sign of a good team is how they bounce back after a defeat. Even Corey Crawford bounced back. Nice to see. Scorers were: Pirri, Sharp, Toews, Versteeg and Sharp (Penalty Shot).
The 2nd line of Saad-Versteeg-Kane looked very sharp. We must also note that the Sharks are on the tail end of a road trip and after the first period, they looked tired. I expect to see a better effort from them the next time we play them.
Other players that looked good: Kruger finding space and feeding a one timer to Patrick Sharp. Brandon Saad looked amazing tonight and had 2 helpers as well to show for his effort.
The Hawks now begin the wicked Circus Road Trip and this will let us know if the Hawks are ready to stay on top. Having Antti Raanta as a back up is going to seriously help the Hawks have a successful road trip as Nikolai Khabibulin has been put on LTIR (thank God).
Kris Versteeg was named #3 star of the game (1G, 1A) and the fans welcomed him back with quite a roar. This move of getting back Steeger was so good on so many levels. Besides what he brings to the ice, he is a great locker room guy. The Hawks are also happy to have their friend back. NOTHING beats good chemistry.........NOTHING.
