Hawks are going to have a new look. Brandon Bollig, the big fighter from Rockford is getting his NHL debut tomorrow night against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Andrew Shaw also gets recalled.
Bollig has been practicing with Jamal Mayer's line.
With Bollig and Shaw being recalled, this means the Hawks are going to be 'thin'. We hear that Toews is day-to-day, but if Kane is back at center, this probably means that Tazer is sitting. He didn't skate in morning skate. Hjalmarsson is also out.
I think Bollig and Shaw will be temporary stays. This probably means Steve Montador is out too.
(Keith-Seabrook-Leddy-Oduya-Olsen-Lepisto/O'Donnell).
I hope this addition of Aduya brings a little "spark" back to the team. They've been dead of late and the energy is lacking. Like I mentioned earlier,...did Stan Bowman do enough? We shall soon see.

Did Stan Bowman Do Enough?
With so many teams as "buyers" this year, it was very difficult to trade. Those that were "Sellers" were asking too much. That is why players like Nash, Roy, Nabokov, didn't get moved.
What did the Hawks do? Well, they picked up speed in Johnny Oduya : someone who has been playing a lot of minutes on the PK and has speed.
Now what they gave up for a RENTAL player was a lot. Next year's 2nd and 3rd round pick. They Hawks better hope this guy is worth all of that. Or they just improved the Winnipeg Jets overnight. So, I truly cannot "Grade" Stan Bowman until after the season and then to see what and how he deals with J.Oduya. We'll give him a C+ for the time being. He did wait until the 57th minute to make a move. He was scaring Hawks fans who were holding their breaths as they kept announcing trades. FINALLY inside the hour the bell rang and they announced the trade. Big sigh of relief.
They got rid of John Scott: although a popular guy because he's got a pleasant personality, he wasn't NHL caliber.
What they didn't do: Address their CENTER position problems. they didn't address the GOALTENDING problems either.
Let's look at the present cap now. The Hawks will hav 8 UFA's.
Brunette: I don't think he's worth the $2 million anymore
Carcillo: Believe it or not, I think he's worth resigning.
Morrison: Bye Bye
Jamal Mayers: He's worth resigning. He brings leadership and grit to that 4th line.
Johnny Oduya: He's at this point,...a rental.. But, he's worth holding on to. Time will tell how he plays the rest of the season. Oduya may look for a raise. Bowman won't pay more than 3.75-4 m
Sean O'Donnell: He'll be finished after this season
Sami Lepisto: He's done too
Ray Emery: I think he's done too.
Players that hold value they could trade:
Bryan Bickell : at $541k that is just above league min.
Niklas Hjalmarsson: Will have 2 years left on his contract at $3.5 mil and he's trade-able.
Michael Frolik: Only has 2 years left, but his play has been poor. Maybe he can be packaged in a deal.
Viktor Stalberg: Definitely trade-able. at $875k and the numbers he'll have, he's trade worthy. Probably the best trade worthy player on the team.
Marcus Kruger: 1 year left of $900k , there will be people interested in him,...including the Hawks. We'll see if they can part with him. ( I still think B. Pirri is a better player and he's stuck in the AHL waiting his shot)
